Cluster for Eco-Social Innovation and Development CEDRA Split was founded in 2013 as a follow-up of several local, regional and national initiatives and projects.

Being a lead organisation in social enterprise development of Croatia, Slap has opened a social enterprise of its own – Modra nit d.o.o. Modra nit is a marketing agency specialised for visibility of project funded from the European Union and it has been founded in the year 2010. It was during the implementation period of Slap’s project where Modra nit made its first steps into the world of visibility for the European Union funded projects. Modra nit d.o.o.

The members of the cooperative are physical and legal persons interested in development of economy based on democracy, social responsibility, transparency and solidarity. Besides individuals, members include enterprises, cooperatives, artisans, family farms, civil society organizations, trade unions, local action groups, local governments, developmental agencies, universities, etc. In 2017, the Cooperative has more than 1.100 members.

Association for Children and Youth with Disabilities “Zvono” (Bell), founded by parents of children and youth with disabilities, is providing assistance and care for disabled children and youth in wider Belišće and Valpovo area (Eastern Croatia). Zvono Association promotes independence for their members and develops programs for employment of people with disabilities. It promotes the philosophy of inclusion and works to improve conditions in the local community to achieve the normalization and inclusion of persons with disabilities in that community.

Association for Creative Development Slap is a development oriented organisation, registered in the year 2000 as a non-governmental organisation. Slap is dedicated to promotion of eco-social economy values and practises being a leader in social enterprise in Croatia. Associations main office is in Osijek and the main goal is to create sustainable model of eco-social economy in the Slavonian region.

In co-ownership, there are more than 900 small shareholders – inhabitants of a little Istrian municipality Bale and people who are called “friends of Bale”.

The Zlatna Greda d.o.o. (Golden Beam Ltd) ecotourism agency is the first ecotourism agency in Croatia, founded in 2006 and in full ownership of the Association Zeleni Osijek. Zlatna greda is a social entreprise and the profit that they earn goes straight to the nature and environment protection activities.

This ecotourism agency is the main and only organiser of activities connected to ecotourism in the Eco centre Zlatna Greda. The ecotourism agency is a member of Association of Croatian Travel Agencies (UHPA).


The association was founded in the year 1995 and it has, since then, mostly been focused on preservation of natural and cultural resources as well as to a sustainable development of middle Podunavlje. The vision of Zeleni Osijek is to create a fair and ecologically sustainable society in which one can have a high quality of living in coexistence with society and nature.

The social enterprise Hedona has ensured a comfortable business surrounding for a total of nine people, from which six people are with disability.  The employment model has been developed through the project – work places need to be created for people with disabilities who are finishing high school to become confectioners (pastry chefs) and which become long-term unemployed upon graduation.  

Especially, the organization was to take over the management of the co-working space AmoSfera, i.e. 350 sq.m. of privately rented and sub-rented office area in Ruđera Boškovića street in Split. Besides rental of dedicated and open space shared desk office space for freelancers, small businesses, civil society organizations, nomad entrepreneurs and local social entrepreneurs, the organization took over large part of business and institutional development consulting activities, including strategic planning and fund-raising activities.
